Laboratory Infrastructure

  1. Objectives:
    • To develop sustainable solutions for environmental protection and remediation.
    • To educate and train future environmental engineers and scientists.
    • To collaborate with industry and government to implement innovative environmental technologies.
    • To conduct interdisciplinary studies to understand complex environmental systems
  2. Key Equipment & Tests:
    • Double Distillation unit: To prepare distilled water for the reagent preparation and laboratory uses
    • Hot Air Oven: Used in determination of solid content in water and to heat any substance at higher temperature
    • Muffle furnace: Used in determination of solid content in water and to heat any substance at higher temperature beyond 600°C
    • Vertical Autoclave: To sterilize the equipment and Biological testing
    • BOD Incubator: To cultivate microorganisms under controlled temperature and humidity conditions
  3. Applications:
    • Quality assessment of water and wastewater.
    • Pilot-scale Treatment Units: For testing and optimizing various water and wastewater treatment technologies.
    • Water and Wastewater Treatment: Development and optimization of processes for safe drinking water and effective wastewater management.
    • Air Pollution Control: Research on technologies for reducing emissions from industrial sources and improving ambient air quality.
    • Solid Waste Management: Innovative approaches to waste reduction, recycling, and energy recovery.
